Meet Freya Her coat, like that of many Basset Hounds, is a rich combination of colors, typically tricolor with patches of black, white, and brown. It's short but dense, protecting her from rough terrains when she was historically used as a scent hound for hunting small game. Freya’s keen sense of smell is second only to the Bloodhound. As a result, walks with her can become slow expeditions, as she meticulously sniffs and investigates every scent trail she comes across. Basset Hounds, despite their sometimes languid demeanor, are driven by their nose and can be tenacious when on a scent trail. The melodious, mournful howl of the Basset Hound is a unique and sometimes unexpected trait. Freya might raise her voice when she's particularly moved by something, or occasionally, when she's left alone and is missing her human companions.
